Bio
Hailing from the hills of Tennessee, Jay Faires learned bluegrass flatpicking from a man named Randy Terry in a half-torn down Baptist church every Wednesday - although Jay chased his love of electric guitar as soon as he moved to North Carolina, he re-captures a portion of his childhood through playing old-time and bluegrass music with Dan Drohan. Aiming to capture the “good old feel” of the parking lot jams, family gatherings, and barn jams of his early days in Tennessee, Jay Faires & Dan Drohan together bring an eclectic mix of hometown tunes, old time sounds, and modern day good vibes to any event.
Between the two musicians they have played all over New England and beyond. From festivals like Boston Calling, to venues like The Sinclair and The Lizard Lounge and Breweries such as Medusa and Cold Harbor Brewing!
